In 2020, following editions in Switzerland, the USA and France, the cciMB will return to Bologna, Italy. Here is where it all started almost 10 years ago, when family and friends decided to organise an international classical guitar competition to commemorate physicist and guitarist Maurizio Biasini. Supported by the City of Bologna and in collaboration with the Conservatory of Bologna, the cciMB 2020 Competition & Festival will take place from 2 to 6 October 2020, in various locations in the city with the final round in the Teatro Comunale di Bologna – the baroque theatre. We are delighted to announce that, once more, the finalists will play a guitar concerto accompanied by the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna. A new composition to be played in the semifinal and final rounds has been commissioned to the Argentinian composer Alex Nante (1992, Buenos Aires), winner of the second prize at the Basel Orchestra Competition 2019.
