Praised for his impressive technical mastery and high musical sensibility, Emanuele Buono has established himself as one of the most acclaimed guitarists of his generation. Born in Turin, Italy in 1987, he began his studies when he was very young. At the age of eighteen, he graduated from the Guiseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan with first class honours and later continued his studies at the Accademia Chigiana of Siena, where he was twice awarded a certificate of merit and a scholarship.

Emanuele’s journey into the international concert scene started with the XIII International Guitar Competition and Festival in Alessandria (Italy) in 2008, where he was awarded the Golden Guitar as the best young concert player of the year. In 2009, he won the Gold Medal at the prestigious International Christopher Parkening Competition (Malibu, USA) by unanimous decision of the jury and became the youngest winner in the competition’s history. He is also the winner of the 2nd International Guitar Competition Maurizio Biasini held in Basel (Switzerland, 2013) and of several other important international guitar competitions.

He has been invited to make his debut in several major concert halls including the Konzerthaus in Vienna (Austria), the Manuel de Falla Hall in Madrid (Spain), the Hermitage Theatre in St. Petersburg (Russia), the Lysenko Hall in Kiev (Ukraine), the Stadtcasino in Basel (Switzerland), the International House of Music in Moscow (Russia), and the Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in New York (USA). His latest recording on Naxos was an American Record Guide’s Critic’s Choice Award winner.
